Throughout my life I have been inspired by Nature and the beauty of the Natural World.

When I left teaching and took early retirement, after having spent all of my working life teaching art in secondary schools in London and the North East, I re-connected with my own creativity.

I began to walk regularly in London parks, and started wandering along the shore of the river Thames around Rotherhithe, where I have lived for over 30 years.

I began experimenting with Watercolours after attending courses at Morley college and I was immediately attracted to the immediacy of the medium, together with the flexibility to develop studies of the medium in more detail.

A few years ago, I acquired a studio space at Art hub studios where I began experimenting with Oils, a medium I had not painted with since Art College. I enjoy working on canvas to a much larger scale and my oil paintings continue to be inspired by the magnificence and beauty of all varieties of trees, together with my fascination of plants, particularly Oxalis Triangularis and Pilea, the Chinese money plant.
